FSU iSchool Attends ALISE 2019 Conference

FSU School of Information faculty, students, and alumni are attending the ALISE 2019 Conference September 24 to 26 in Knoxville, Tennessee. ALISE, the Association for Library and Information Science Education, is an international leader for innovative and high-quality research, teaching, and service for educators and scholars in library and information science and cognate disciplines.

A highlight of the annual conference are the ALISE Awards, presented on the final night of the three-day event by the ALISE Board of Directors. School of Information director and professor Dr. Kathy Burnett and professor Dr. Melissa Gross are the recipients of the ALISE Award for Professional Contribution. Additionally, third-year doctoral student Kristie Escobar will be awarded with the ALISE/University of Washington Information School Youth Services Graduate Student Travel Award.

Professor Gary Burnett is the ALISE Conference Co-Chair. Also, professor Don Latham joins Dr. Gross to present their paper, ICT Use Among Rural Child Welfare Workers: Implications for LIS Education in a Global Context. Students from the School of Information attending the conference include Hany Alsami, Asif Shaikh, and others.
